Other common sites are crocodiles and hippos basking in the sun, antelope, zebra and if you're lucky the occasional lion. If you are a birding enthusiast this is a great chance to spot a number of stunning birds including African darters, skimmers (threatened species), fish eagles, kingfishers and other waders and water birds. Listen for the unmistakable call of the African fish eagle.
