The Waterloo Music Saunter will start nearby Ladybird Lake at the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue. This walking music tour will encompass all of the best and most iconic music spots in downtown Austin "the Live Music Capital of the World." Music venues, record shops, music murals and statues will all be part of this saunter around the town.
Iconic photo op spot and beautiful stretch of downtown Austin near Guadalupe Street and Willie Nelson Boulevard. Stop to gander at the world famous Austin City Limits theater.
A place you'll have to see to believe. Austin's oldest blues music venue. There will be a stop into a record shops here and stories of old school Austin will be told.
Next a stroll down Austin's most iconic street, historic Pecan Street(most commonly known as 6th Street) will be in order. The street consists of many bars, music venues, hotels and historic Austin buildings. Option to dip into a bar is available during this portion of the Saunter. Depending on the time of day and season, there may be live music to be seen or heard on this stretch of the tour.
At this stop on the walking music tour you will see Austin's longest running music store and record shop. Depending on the timing of your tour there may be an in-store performance/record signing happening or get to meet with the owner himself, Mr. John Kunz. This is truly one of Austin's gemstones.
Come and see the bats! Depending on time of day and time of the year, we will stop by the Ann Richards Congress Avenue Bridge and take a gander at the bats. Hear their squeaks with us!
Park near Vic Mathias Shores or at the Palmer Events Center parking garage. Metered street parking and even some free parking is available along Riverside Drive near S. 1st Street. The statue is located near the hike and bike trail along the river.
