Detailed itinerary

1

Departure from the meeting point at the scheduled time.

2

Tasting of Cilento products at the AURA laboratory in Palinuro.
The AURA-Cilento laboratory produces with artisan methods, respecting nature, the environment and tradition. There are many components that make the quality of AURA-Cilento products unique: the selected raw materials, the ancient processing techniques, and not least the passion for the Cilento territory.
The different varieties of tuna and anchovies are caught only in the southern Tyrrhenian Sea; fruits and vegetables come from the owned countryside, and from friendly vegetable gardens. The oil used is the extra virgin olive oil of Cilento, of the lush hills that slope down to the sea.

3

Walk in the historic center of Pisciotta.
The village of Pisciotta retains its medieval structure. From the top the Palazzo Marquis Pappacoda dominates the village, while all around are scattered small stone houses between narrow and winding alleys. Worth mentioning is the parish church dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul and the noble chapels of San Michele and Madonna della Mercede, which embellish the spectacular walk in the historic center of Pisciotta. The Church of Saints Peter and Paul houses precious paintings and famous relics.

4

Tasting at Cantina Lamadè, in Pisciotta. A place that has only one goal, to rediscover the authentic flavors of the cuisine of the past through the recipes "grandmothers". The cuisine is poor Cilento, at home; all dishes are based on raw materials at zero kilometer, provided by local producers and strictly local. The menu changes every day according to what is fresh: homemade pasta with native ancient grains, meat and local fish dishes, cold cuts and cheeses, aperitifs with aromatic herbs.

5

Boat excursion, departing from the port of Palinuro, to the Blue Grotto of Capo Palinuro, named after the color of the water that varies according to the reflections of the sun, which create intense and bright shades of electric blue and blue that in turn illuminate the whole cave.
This wonderful effect is due to the light coming from an underwater siphon placed at the bottom of the cave, at a depth of about twenty meters, which emerges from the opposite side.

6

Visit to the Antiquarium of Palinuro located on a coastal cliff close to a picturesque cove in Ficocella. The building was built in the 1960s to give a location to the many archaeological finds found in the territory of Palinuro since 1948.
Capo Palinuro and the surrounding area have been inhabited since ancient times and the tombs discovered so far have offered archaeologists very interesting material to study.
