About this experience

Costa Quebrada is a real geological catalogue, so its candidacy as a Geopark has been accepted, a figure created by UNESCO in 2015, in which not only its natural heritage is valued, but also, its cultural heritage has been taken into account.

Our tour will take place over 8 kilometers, from Covachos Beach, through La Cubeta in the Arnía, the most photographed and recognizable abrasion platform on the Costa Quebrada; we will see the Pedrondo pit, La Baselga, the inlet of El Portío, Cerrías beach and Somocuevas beach.

An exciting journey along the coast, which will make us discover an unrivalled natural environment.

IMPORTANT : Comfortable and closed shoes, type sneakers or trekking and long pants are necessary to avoid chafing with the vegetation. Carry water to hydrate during the tour.

You will learn how Costa Quebrada was formed, the effect of erosion and its evolution. We will see the Hanging Valley, El Castro Island, the tombolo and fossils.

We will know what the geological park is, the protection of UNESCO as a geopark and the territory it covers. We will look closely at the abrasion platform, one of the most recognized areas of the geopark, its flora and fauna.

After visiting the Pedrondo and Baselga basin, we will see the inlet of El Portío and the beaches of Cerrías and Somocuevas.
