About this experience
The departure to the boarding point starts at 8:20 AM, with times that may vary depending on the distance to the meeting spot. After boarding the speedboat, we will navigate the river for about 40 minutes until we reach the village of Vassouras, known for its deep lagoons during the rainy season and the presence of playful capuchin monkeys. Next, we head to the village of Mandacaru, where you can climb the Preguiças Lighthouse and enjoy a spectacular panoramic view. There are also craft shops, as well as caipirinhas and ice creams with typical regional flavors. Finally, the tour ends at Caburé Beach, a sand peninsula bordered by the river on one side and the sea on the other. Lunch will be at one of the beach’s restaurants. The return usually starts around 2:30 PM, with an expected arrival at 3:30 PM.

Farol Preguiças, also known as Mandacaru Lighthouse, is located in Barreirinhas, Maranhão, on the banks of the Preguiças River. To reach the top, visitors climb 160 steps on a spiral staircase, which is worth it for the amazing scenery.
