Stop 1

Experience old Tokyo and visit one of the most famous temples in Tokyo. Enjoy some street food like dango (mini mochi balls) and deep fried sweet bean filled mochi (agemanju)! You can pick up some great souvenirs too.

Tokyo's most visited tourist destination, Asakusa is known for the great historical site complex and the old downtown atmosphere. The area attracts both Japanese and foreign tourists all year around.

(+ Optional Yoyogi Park and Takeshita Walking Street) - Meiji Shrine is Tokyo's most prominent shrine and dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, completed in 1920. Emperor Meiji was the first Emperor of modern Japan. The beautiful Yoyogi Park and Takeshita Street (observe Japanese youth, cosplay and street culture) are optional!

The intersection is a popular location for movies and media taking place in Tokyo. It has appeared in the films Lost in Translation and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, while making appearances in numerous music videos, newscasts, and animated programs. As a famous representation of modern Japan, photographers and videographers are almost constantly circling the intersection, climbing on guard rails and perching on subway entrances in an effort to find the best vantage point.

One of the best fish markets in the world, Tsukiji Outer Market has a fantastic atmosphere. A wide array of street food stalls and excellent restaurants are available -serving both raw and cooked fish. Lunch should be enjoyed here (paid at own expense).
