Our Take a Llama to Lunch brings two gentle, wooly llama companions as you trek through the stunning landscapes of Staunton State Park. Your calm hiking buddy will carry all the gear while you soak in sweeping mountain vistas, serene pine forests, and wildflower meadows.
Your 3-mile journey winds through the historic cabins of the Staunton’s homestead where your guide will share about Colorado life in the early 1900s. The trail leads through a wildflower-filled meadow where the Ute and Cheyenne lived for thousands of years. You’ll pause at the scenic Davis Ponds for a gourmet picnic lunch featuring fresh sandwiches/wraps, trail snacks, and refreshing drinks. Your experienced guides will share fascinating llama facts and local wildlife knowledge throughout this special experience.

This is the parking lot for the US 285 & Mountain View Park n Ride. It is on the west side of Highway 285. Look for the white truck and white trailer that says "Wonder Meadow Farm." You'll follow us in your vehicle to the entrance of the state park so you don't have to pay the entrance fee.
