We begin with the hustle and bustle of Chinatown, where the past and present blend. Stroll through rows of traditional shophouses with a kaleidoscope of murals decorating public walls, excite your taste buds with local delights, and experience the indomitable spirits of early Chinese settlers through our guide’s stories of yesteryear!
We’ll then travese through the historic Singapore Civic District.
Pass by the Padang, which has seen countless playthroughs of Singapore’s beginnings and the Singapore National Gallery, which has a much deeper history in itself than just being a gallery. Pay tributes at the Civilian Memorial Park, a monument that reminds us of the cruel past we endured. Afterwards we round up at Old Parliament Lane, where the political history of our government grew its roots.
From there we will head to Kampong Glam, a bustling enclave that houses the Malays of past and present. The 19th-century Sultan Mosque is a living representation of the area’s history, juxtaposed to the lively and colourful streets that surround the ancient site, filled with cafes and local fashion.
We round up our tour at the legendary Raffles Hotel, which houses a rich history dating back to colonial times. Of course we have to end the day in high spirits, so you have the option* to indulge yourselves in the famed Singapore Sling, Singapore’s signature tipple, crafted in this very hotel that you stand in.
