St. Peter's Square, located in the heart of the Vatican, is one of the most famous and impressive squares in the world. Designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini by order of Pope Alexander VII, it was built between 1656 and 1667 to accommodate the faithful who attended religious services. The square is characterized by a large elliptical colonnade, symbolizing the open arms of the Church that welcomes the world. In the center is an Egyptian obelisk and two fountains, while the facade of St. Peter's Basilica dominates the scene.

Stop 2

St. Peter's Basilica, located in the Vatican, is one of the largest churches in the world and a masterpiece of Renaissance and Baroque architecture. It was built on the site where Saint Peter, one of Jesus' apostles, is believed to be buried. The current basilica replaces an ancient Constantinian basilica and features an imposing dome designed by Michelangelo. It houses priceless works of art, such as Michelangelo's "Pietà" and Bernini's canopy.

•Admission to St. Peter's Basilica is free. You do not need to buy a ticket to access the basilica.

Stop 3

Piazza Navona, in Rome, is one of the most famous and beautiful squares of the city, characterized by Baroque architecture and its shape that resembles the ancient Stadium of Domitian. Inside, you can admire the Fountain of the Four Rivers by Bernini, the Fountain of the Moor, the Fountain of Neptune and the Church of Sant'Agnese in Agone by Borromini. Piazza Navona is a meeting place, culture and nightlife, ideal for walking, admiring art and enjoying a coffee or an aperitif.

Stop 4

The Altar of the Fatherland is the popular name of the Vittoriano Monumental Complex, a monumental architectural complex in Rome dedicated to Vittorio Emanuele II, first king of Italy, and to celebrate the unification of Italy. The Altar of the Fatherland, in particular, is the central curvilinear area of the Victorian, which houses the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, symbol of the sacrifice of all the fallen of the Great War.

5
Stop 5

The Trevi Fountain is a monumental fountain located in the Trevi district of Rome, known for its baroque beauty and tradition of throwing coins. It is the largest fountain in Rome, with a width of 20 meters and a height of 26. Its history is linked to the ancient Roman aqueduct "Aqua Virgo" and its termination, and was built in the eighteenth century, completed in 1762 by Giuseppe Pannini after the death of Nicola Salvi.

6
Stop 6

Piazza di Spagna is one of the most famous and iconic squares in Rome, located in the heart of the city. It is named after the Spanish Embassy building, which is located inside. The square is famous for its majestic staircase of Trinità dei Monti, which connects it to the church of the same name at the top of the hill, and for the Fontana della Barcaccia, the work of Bernini. Piazza di Spagna is an important tourist center and a popular meeting place, with luxury shops, historic cafes and elegant buildings surrounding it.

7
Stop 7

The Pantheon is an ancient Roman temple, now a church, located in the center of Rome, famous for its imposing dome with oculus. Originally dedicated to all gods (hence the name, from the Greek "pan" meaning "everything" and "theos" meaning "god"), it was built by Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa and then rebuilt by Hadrian. Today it is an extraordinary example of Roman architecture and an important tourist attraction.

8
Stop 8

The Colosseum, or Flavian Amphitheatre, is the largest amphitheatre of the ancient Roman world, located in Rome. It was built during the Flavian dynasty, under the emperors Vespasian and Titus, and inaugurated in 80 AD.C. Originally, it could accommodate about 50,000 spectators and hosted shows such as gladiator fights and fierce animal hunts.

Stop 10

The Fontana dell'Acqua Paola, also known as the "Fontanone del Gianicolo", is a majestic monumental fountain located in Rome, on the Gianicolo hill. It was built between 1610 and 1612 on commission of Pope Paul V Borghese to celebrate the restoration of the Trajan-Paul Aqueduct, which brought water to the areas of the Gianicolo and Trastevere. The fountain, inspired by Roman triumphal arches, is characterized by five wide arches, supported by granite columns, and a rich decorative apparatus with coats of arms of the Borghese family and sculptures of angels.
