This two-hour tour is the perfect opportunity for those looking to taste fresh oysters, paddle with a trained kayak guide, and observe coastal wildlife.
We will explore Little Bay, a tidal estuary located outside of Portsmouth, NH, near the mouth of the Piscataqua River where there is an abundance of aquatic wildlife from shellfish to shorebirds. Then, we will paddle to Hidden Coast Shellfish's floating farmhouse to learn all about their growing and harvesting process. The oysters you sample will be fresh picked from the ocean!
1. Group welcome and Paddle Introduction (20 minutes)
2. Kayak ~1 Mile along the rocky shore observing wildlife along the way (binoculars available on request) (30-40 minutes)
3. Arrive at the Hidden Coast Shellfish's floating dock to take a break from paddling, learn about sustainable oyster farming, and enjoy fresh picked oysters! For those who do not like shellfish, other snacks will be available. (30 minutes)
4. Kayak back to meeting point, keeping an eye out for wildlife and learning about the history of the area along the way (30-40 minutes)
