The earliest phase of this sequence, showcasing Iron Age industrial installations, is now exhibited at the Al Qattara Archaeological Basement. This new permanent exhibition interprets the archaeology of the Al Ain oases through archaeological finds from the site and various media. At Qattara Arts Centre, you can discover a range of art forms through exhibitions featuring local and international artists. Engage with the vibrant art scene, and explore the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Al Jahili Fort, one of the largest forts in the United Arab Emirates, was built in the late 19th century by Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa (Zayed the great). At Jahili Fort you'll step back in time to explore a beautifully preserved example of traditional Arabian architecture. This fort features imposing mud-brick walls and iconic watchtowers, offering a glimpse into the region's rich history. Inside the fort, you can visit a museum dedicated to the life and achievements of the renowned British explorer Sir Wilfred Thesiger, known for his travels in the Arabian Peninsula. Throughout the year, the fort also hosts various cultural events and exhibitions, providing visitors with a deeper insight into the heritage and culture of the region.

At Al Ain Oasis, you can experience the serenity of lush date palm groves and traditional falaj irrigation systems, which have sustained life in the desert for 3 000 years. Wander through the shaded pathways, learn about the oasis's history and significance, and discover the traditional mud-brick buildings that dot the landscape.
