Stop 1

Meet your driver at your Shanghai downtown hotel. Set out on a full day of sightseeing in the comfort of an air-conditioned private vehicle. Visit the 500-year old classic Chinese Yu Garden, and view the traditional Qing-Dynasty architecture of the Old Town Bazaar. Enjoy fun walking along the lucky ‘Nine Zigzag’ bridge , appreciate old pavillions, ponds in the lush greens. Here you may also enjoy fun shopping around in the local bazaar markets for souvenirs as handicrafts, antiques, jade, pearls, silk, and other wares etc. Experience a tea ceremony and sample some high quality local tea.

Shanghai Old Street, historically called Miaoqian Dajie, is an old business street that has a combination of tourist attractions, shops, entertainment and cultural exhibits. It owes its special social attractions and rich commercial background to the fact that the earliest bank, gold shop, jeweler's store, wine shop and tea house of the city were all to be found here. Visiting the old alleys of Shanghai is a great way to discover the traditional culture of this city and experience the real life of the Shanghainese.

Then, visit Shanghai’s old French Concession, once the center of colonial life and now a hip area. Built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1875-1909), Jade Buddh Temple contains a priceless collection of jade statues from Burma. The temple is constructed in the magnificent architectural style of the Song Dynasty. Currently the temple houses the Shanghai Buddhist Institute.
