Snowshoe hiking experience on the snow with a view of the Shakotan Blue Sea, which is famous as one of the most beautiful blue seas in Hokkaido.
After meeting at SHAKOMARU BASE, we will move to the starting point. The guide will give you a lecture on how to put on snowshoes and how to walk. The snow trekking experience will last 4 hours, approx. 3.5km one way.
The tour starts from Shimamui Coast. The coast facing the Sea of Japan is so spectacular that it has been selected as one of the 100 best beaches in Japan. The continuous cliffs from there are a highlight of the area.
In winter, the area is home to birds such as seagulls and Steller's sea eagles, as well as seals. The Shakotan Cape Lighthouse and the strange rock of Jyorokkoiwa are among the highlights of the area. After enjoying the spectacular view of the Sea of Japan in winter, we will return to SHAKOMARU BASE to finish the tour.
After the tour, you can take a bath in a nearby hot spring as an option.
