About this experience
Join your local guide for a ride through Madrid and vast El Retiro Park. We'll visit Puerta del Sol, with its beloved "Statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree,” the ornate Metropolis building, Plaza Mayor, and more.
As we cycle over to the park, your guide will share stories of the monuments and landmarks we’re passing.
Our ride inside El Retiro Park is just as scenic, filled with shady paths, flowers, fountains, and the beautiful Crystal Palace, where we’ll take a quick break to enjoy the view.
Finally, we'll return our bikes and end at the popular Chocolatería 1902 pastry shop for churros and dippable hot chocolate.
If you choose our upgrade, you can enjoy another culinary adventure with a tasting of cured meats, premium cheeses, and olive oil at a local ham shop. Enjoy it with a glass of white or red wine.

In the very heart of Madrid, with its iconic "Statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree," you’ll learn why this place is called a door and not a square.

Stop 2
Once the center of Old Madrid, this plaza is now a major tourist destination because of its beautiful architecture, bars and restaurants. Here, we’ll hop off our bikes to get a closer look at the elaborately sculptured buildings.

An iconic early 20th-century building part of the Parisian beaux-arts architectural style, this building is now one of the main sights in Madrid. It’s perfectly Instagrammable.

Stop 4
One of the main squares of the Spanish capital, this hosts unique landmarks like the Bank of Spain building, the Linares Palace, the Cybele Palace, and the Cibeles Fountain. Here, you’ll learn where hit show “Money Heist” was filmed.

This neoclassical gate from the 18th century is located where the old city walls used to stand. Hear stories of the trades once passed through this historic gate.

At the center of El Retiro Park, or Parque del Buen Retiro, this monument stands in Madrid’s most important urban park. The monument is dedicated to a former king of Spain, Alfonso XII, and overlooks a beautiful artificial lake

This 19th-century conservatory made almost entirely of glass hosts several artistic events during the year and also offers one of the most unique sights in El Retiro Park. Stop to refresh on water and drink those amazing views, too.

One of the main attractions inside the Buen Retiro Park, this is one of the few sculptures in the world dedicated to the fall of Lucifer from Heaven. Here you’ll learn the devilish secret behind why this is one of the rarest statues in Europe.

Once one of the most important monasteries in Madrid, the remaining buildings here are now shared between the church of St. Jerome and the worldwide famous Prado Museum. It’s also a nice spot to enjoy a view of the Prado Museum.

Admire this neoclassical fountain dedicated to Neptune, Roman god of the sea, just in front of the Prado Museum. People who support the Atlético Madrid team come here to celebrate their victories.

If there is time, you will see the Mercado de San Miguel. Opened back in May 1916 as a local food market, in 2009 the Mercado de San Miguel is one of the city’s finest examples of cast-iron architecture.

Leaving our bikes behind, we’ll end our tour at this famous pastry shop, one of the oldest in Madrid. Savor the sweetness of their famous churros with chocolate. You can stay here as long as you’d like.
