Detailed itinerary

1

Sailing along the coast of Sorrento, we begin our crossing to Capri island

2
Stop 2 Pass by

By sailing along the coast of Sorrento, we can see the characteristic and colourful fishing village of Marina Grande from the sea, the setting for numerous Italian and international films.

3
Stop 3 Pass by

Continuing our journey along the coast of Sorrento, we allow history to envelop us observing the ruins of an ancient Roman villa dating back to the 1st century BC. The villa was also the residence of a queen, Queen Giovanna.

4

In 45/50 minutes, we get to Capri to begin our tour of the island by boat, which lasts approx. 1 hour.

5
Stop 5

On request, stop at the Blue Grotto to visit is. The visit depends on the weather/sea conditions. Entrance ticket (€18,00 p.p.) must be paid on site.

6

Sailing along the coast, we can see the ancient Bourbon path that connected the Saracen watchtowers, which were essential for protecting the island from enemy attacks coming from the sea.

7

We sail south-west to reach the Punta Carena lighthouse, the second oldest in Italy. The lighthouse has been active since 1867. The focal plane is located at 73 meters above sea level. It has a range of 25 nautical miles (about 46 km) and is therefore defined as an offshore lighthouse. It is a 28 m (92 ft) octagonal masonry tower on a two-story house.

8
Stop 8

Driven by the waves, we reach the Green Grotto. It is a sea caves, the floor of which, formed when the land was higher, but is now submerged. The roof was eroded when the land was at a lower level. The green light upon the rocks stems to be a composite effect due to blue light reflected and transmitted from the water, playing upon the yellowish-hued sides and roof of the cave.

9
Stop 9

We then get to Marina Piccola, a sheltered bay in Capri near the Faraglioni rocks, full of colourful houses, restaurants with sea views and crystal-clear beaches.

10

On request, stop for swimming in the crystal-clear water of the island.

11

Between Marina Piccola and Faraglioni rocks, we find an historic hairpin turn paved footpath on the island of Capri, connecting the Charterhouse of San Giacomo and the Gardens of Augustus area with Marina Piccola. Commissioned by the German industrialist Friedrich Alfred Krupp, the path covers an elevation difference of about 100 m (330 ft). Built between 1900 and 1902, Via Krupp was ostensibly a connection for Krupp between his luxury hotel, Grand Hotel Quisisana and Marina Piccola, where his marine biology research vessel lay at anchor. Secretly, however, this path also conveyed him to the Grotta di Fra Felice, a grotto where sex orgies with local youths took place. When the scandal surfaced, Krupp was asked to leave Italy in 1902.

12
Stop 12

The faraglioni of Capri are three small rocky faraglioni named Stella, Mezzo and Scopolo. Their notable shapes result from erosion due to wind, rain, and sea waves. Their short distance from the shore create a scenic effect. We stop in front of them to take memorable photos!

13

Disembark at the port of Capri for lunch and free time to visit the town centre.
Please note: if you wish to disembark at the port of Capri, there is a €100.00 fee to pay.
Alternatively, you can choose to have lunch at a seaside restaurant, avoiding the disembarkation fee (to be agreed with our captain on board).

14

After visiting the island of Capri, we return on board for a second swim in the waters of Capri.
