Your journey starts early from Shkoder with organized transport through Komani Lake and Valbona. Once in Valbona, you’ll overnight there and begin your hike to Theth the next morning.
We provide a detailed digital hiking map, tips, and a full itinerary to guide you through the trail. You’ll hike across the stunning Accursed Mountains at your own pace, surrounded by panoramic views, wild nature, and alpine villages.
The next day, return to Shkoder with pre-arranged transport from Theth.

2-Day Itinerary: Valbona to Theth Hike via Koman Lake
Day 1 – Shkodra to Valbona
06:45 AM – Departure from Shkodra
Meet at Hotel Rozafa, located in the city center. Begin your journey with a scenic drive toward Koman Lake.
08:30 AM – Arrival at Koman Lake & Ferry Boarding
Board the passenger ferry at Koman. A staff member will guide you. Just present the ticket provided one day before your trip.
09:00 – 11:30 AM – Komani Lake Ferry Ride
Enjoy a stunning 2-hour boat ride through the dramatic landscapes of Komani Lake, often compared to the fjords of Norway.
12:00 PM – Fierza Arrival & Minibus Transfer
Upon arrival in Fierza, a shared minibus will transfer you to Valbona village.
13:00 PM – Arrival in Valbona
Please inform the driver of your guesthouse address so you can be dropped off directly. Check into your guesthouse (not included). Spend the afternoon exploring the valley or relaxing in preparation for the next day's hike.
Day 2 – Self-Guided Hike: Valbona to Theth
Early Morning – Hike Begins
Many guesthouses offer transport to the trailhead at Valbona Pass (with an extra charge). Be sure to confirm this when booking accommodation.
Begin your self-guided hike to Theth using the digital GPS map we send via WhatsApp or email the day before.
Distance: ~17 km
Time: 6–8 hours (varies by pace)
Elevation Gain: ~1000m
Trail: Well-marked with scenic stops
Important: This is a challenging mountain hike. Good footwear, 2–3L of water, snacks, sun protection, and weather-appropriate clothing are essential.
Arrival in Theth (Afternoon)
Once in Theth, you have two options:
Option 1: Stay overnight (accommodation not included). We’ll organize your return to Shkodra the next day at 11:00 AM.
Option 2: Return the same day if you arrive before 17:00.

Pick-up: Theth village center (at Minimarket Jezerca)
Departure: 5:00 PM (same day) or 11:00 AM (next day)
