In Shaqra Governorate, the Qasab Salt Flats are the largest salt flats in Najd and one of the largest in Saudi Arabia.
They are Saudi Arabia's primary source of salt and have become a popular tourist destination for learning about natural salt extraction.

Since the pre-Islamic era, Al-Qasab has been famous for its salt and wheat production; it is located 160 km away from Riyadh and is also famous for its poets.

Visit the Al Qasab Salt Flats to witness how raw salt is produced from flat expanses of salt-covered ground. Approximately 200,000 tons of salt are produced there each year, and it is still known throughout the Kingdom for its high-quality salt that is sold in plastic packets.
