Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

The Belvedere consists of two Baroque palaces: the Upper Belvedere and the Lower Belvedere, along with extensive gardens between them.
During this stop, you will answer quizzes and learn about the Belvedere's history in the Wanderway app.

Stop 2

During this stop, you will learn about the church's history and answer quizzes in the Wanderway app.

Stop 3

The Secession Building was created as the exhibition hall for the Vienna Secession, a group of avant-garde artists, led by Gustav Klimt.

Stop 4

The Vienna State Opera is considered one of the leading opera houses globally. You will learn about its history and answer quizzes in the Wanderway app.

Stop 5

Heldenplatz is integral to the Hofburg Palace, which has been the seat of power in Vienna for centuries.

The Plague Column was erected to commemorate the end of the Great Plague of Vienna in 1679, a devastating outbreak of bubonic plague that claimed many lives in the city. It was commissioned by Emperor Leopold I, who vowed to build a monument if the plague would end.

St. Stephen's Cathedral has been a symbol of Vienna for centuries.
One of the most distinctive features of St. Stephen's Cathedral is its colorful tiled roof. The roof is adorned with over 230,000 glazed tiles arranged in intricate patterns.

Stop 8

The Anker Clock is a famous historical clock. One of the best times to see the clock is at noon when all 12 figures make a full procession across the face of the clock, accompanied by music.

Stop 9

The Vienna City Hall is an outstanding example of Gothic Revival architecture. Designed by Friedrich von Schmidt, it was constructed between 1872 and 1883. You will learn about the City's Hall history and answer quizzes in the Wanderway app.

Stop 10

Schönbrunn Palace served as the summer residence of the Habsburg dynasty, one of the most powerful royal families in European history. It was also the Palace of the famous Sissi.
