Your mission (should you choose to accept it): Jackson Wilde, the famous city-explorer, needs your help… Explore the city and solve quizzes about the main monuments to gather as many points as possible.

Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

The Palais Longchamp was built to celebrate the successful completion of the Canal de Marseille, which brought water to the city from the Durance River. You will learn about its history and answer quizzes in the app.

Stop 2

Built between 1671 and 1749, the Vieille Charité was originally constructed as a hospice for the poor. You will learn about the building's history and answer quizzes in the app to solve your mission.

The Cathedral of Saint Mary Major evokes the grandeur of Eastern basilicas and Byzantine churches. You will learn about the cathedral's history and answer quizzes in the app to solve your mission.

Fort Saint-Jean is a historic fortress, which was built in the 17th century, by order of King Louis XIV to strengthen the city’s defenses against naval attacks.

Stop 5

The Old Port of Marseille (Vieux-Port) is one of the oldest ports in the Mediterranean. Maritime activity has been found from Greeks in 600 BC. Today, the Old Port the liveliest part of the city.

Palais de la Bourse served as a central meeting place for merchants, shipowners, and business leaders. You will learn about the building's history and answer quizzes in the app to solve your mission.

The Abbey of Saint Victor is an early Chistian site dating back in the 5th century. The crypt contains tombs, including what is believed to be the relics of Saint Victor himself.

Stop 8

Pharo's Palace was commissioned by Emperor Napoleon III as a residence for his wife, Empress Eugénie, during their visits to Marseille. The gardens surrounding the palace, known as the Jardin du Pharo, are a popular spot for locals and tourists.

Stop 9

The Basilica of Our Lady of the Guard (Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde) is iconic. It is perched on a hilltop overlooking the city and the Mediterranean Sea. Notre-Dame de la Garde is affectionately known by locals as “La Bonne Mère”.
