Day trip to Kazbegi: Discover Georgian Military Road and Astonishing Mountains. The Georgian Military Road has become famous due to the way it journeys through sweeping landscapes and up into spectacular mountain country. This day trip gives you the chance to soak up these majestic views! The tour will take you to the charming Ananuri Castle which overlooks the Jinvali Reservoir – a spectacle in itself. You’ll then see the Russian-Georgia Friendship Monument and visit Gudauri ski resort. One of the most impressive stops on the tour will be Gergeti Trinity Church which was built in the 14th century at an elevation of 2170 meters. You’ll visit the town of Stepantsminda which is the centre of Kazbegi. From here you’ll be able to admire the third highest glacier in Georgia as a background of Gergeti Trinity Church

We start trip from Tbilisi after we collect travelers from their staying place. Our first stop is at Zhinvali Reservoir were travelers are able to enjoy with nice view. Importance of reservoir is huge in local society. This "Artificial Lake" how it is known here is good source not only for Dam which generates hydroelectric power but one of the main water supply spot for the capital city. Was built later soviet time before it collapsed

Ananuri fortification complex represents good example of local architecture. It mainly consists from fortified walls, towers, hidden escape tunnel, churches which were build following between XIV-XVII

We don't stop for skiing but we have to pass by ski resort which is very popular not only in tourists but in locals. It located just 1.5h driving distance from the capital that's why it considered very nice way to escape daily city routine and skiing. There are 14 ski-lifts in total The lower is located at an altitude of 1993 meters and higher one is located at an altitude of 3276 meters. The first ski-lift was built in 1988.

Monument is good platform to observe nice view. Itself building was built later Soviet time in 1983 and consider as a symbol of friendship two soviet counties Georgia and Russia.

We will arrive in Stepantsminda which is administrative center of Kazbegi. From here you’ll be able to admire the third highest glacier in Georgia on the background of Gergeti Trinity Church.
