This is your chance to tour the coolest of Chicago's 77 neighborhoods alongside a funny, knowledgeable local guide. You've done the Loop; now it's time to see a whole different side of the city.
The tour has 2 options:
Wicker Park and Bucktown - faster pace, 2.5 miles of walking.
Wicker Park only - slower pace, 1.5 miles of walking
Wicker Park is regularly named one of the coolest neighborhoods in the USA! You'll stroll by all sorts of super-hip stores and restaurants with a local guiding the way. You can even pop in somewhere for a few minutes if you'd like. We'll also learn about Wicker's transition from immigrant hub, to a bad 'hood, to artist haven, to current hipster hotspot... Come see where the real Chicagoans live and play!
We'll get off the main drags and see residential Wicker Park. We'll take a breather at the actual parklands, see the fancy Beer Baron homes, and talk about the neighborhood's connection to the great events in Chicago history.
**We'll take a nice stroll on the 606 walking trail, an old railroad track converted to a beautiful oasis. We'll also see St. Mary's of the Angels, a beautiful church with an unusual history. Lastly, we'll stop at Lottie's Pub for a classic Chicago gangster story (and maybe a beer, too!).
**Bucktown is optional. If you'd like to skip this, we'll spend more time in Wicker Park.
We'll meet outside Philz, which is just down the street from the Division Blue Line station.
