Known for being the Versace's House, Villa Fontanelle is a historic villa in Moltrasio, a town on the shore of Lake Como. It was built in the first half of the 19th century by Lord Charles Currie, an eccentric Englishman who fell in love with Lake Como. He could not find a villa for sale, so he decided to build his own, right on the edge of the water. The villa has a yellow four-story building in neoclassical style, with an external elevator that connects it to the road. It also has a large park, a floating pool, and a 19th century villa that was once the home of the opera composer Vincenzo Bellini12.

The villa became famous after it was bought by the Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace in 1977. He restored it to its neoclassical glory and decorated it with hundreds of paintings and artworks. He also invited many celebrities to stay at the villa, such as Elton John, Madonna, Diana Spencer, and Prince. After Versace’s murder in 1997, the villa was sold to Arkady Novikov in 2008.
