About this experience

The aesthetic mountain Galica acts as a separator between the 2 lakes of Ohrid and Prespa. Due to its appeal and size, this piece of nature has been recognized as one of the natural parks of Northern Macedonia. The top of the mountain, called Magaro, has an amazing height of 2254 meters.
After arrival at the starting point, the hike starts through the forest flanks of the Galica Mountains. You will experience the flora and fauna of this place under the guidance of a mountain expert. During the hike there are many opportunities to admire the amazing view over Lake Ohrid, which is currently 500 meters lower. The walk continues along 3 traditional mountain villages, where you will learn the stories about the survival of the residents during the harsh cold of winter.

After a walk of about 2 hours and 3 km. crossed, visit the prehistoric village 'Bay of Bones'. After that you will be rewarded with a tasty lunch on the beach, which is only accessible by boat. So bring swimsuits and towels!

Hike and experience the flora and fauna of this place under the guidance of a mountain expert. During this hike there are many opportunities to admire the amazing view over Lake Ohrid, which is currently 500 meters lower.
The walk continues along 3 traditional mountain villages, where you will learn the stories about the survival of the residents during the harsh cold of winter. Encounter abended homes and remaining villagers, while making your way down. In total you will cross 2 kilometers in your own tempo.

Visit the museum on water, also known as 'Bay of Bones'. This archeological complex functions as an authentic reconstruction of the prehistorical pile dwelling settlement. Nowadays it's one of the most attractive destinations on Lake Ohrid. You will learn about this drowned fishing village, which could be seen as one of the oldest settlements in the Balkan.

Short boat trip over lake Ohrid to the wild beach of Bane, which is only accessible by boat.

Enjoy a well deserved BBQ lunch on the beach near Pestani. This place is only accessible by boat and it's magnificent location serves as a beautiful swimming spot. Work on that suntan, swim or drink while your lunch is being prepared on the grill. This relaxation will serve as a nice achievement for the earlier hike.
