Plac Matejki, the historical entrance to Kraków and starting point of the tour, has numerous locations of interest: churches, statues, university buildings. It is also a lovely place to take photos.
Kraków was selected to be the capital of Poland for its defensive properties. A section of the the once great city walls remains intact until today and it is rich with history and legends, especially pertaining to Saint Florian.

Kraków's main square is the largest medieval main square in all of Europe and basically every single building adjacent to it has a very rich and varied history as well as associated legends. Some of Poland's main monuments are located here, like St. Mary's Basilica and the Cloth Hall Sukiennice. The vicinity has also numerous museums and restaurants I will be more than glad to recommend during the tour.
The Jagiellonian University is not only the oldest university in Poland but also the oldest in all Central and Eastern Europe. With a proud tradition spanning centuries, the university has many stories worth to be told, and the best place for it is the lovely courtyard of the original university building, known as Collegium Maius.
The Wawel castle, once the seat the of all political power in the Kingdom of Poland and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth remains and important and symbolic location for Poles until this day. The castle exhibits various architectural styles and it is a testament to all of Poland's history - from legendary tales to recent modern events. It is a must see landmark of the city.
