Detailed itinerary

1

Our English speaking guide and professional driver will pick you up from Chongqing airport or train stations. Begin your Chongqing adventure with a visit to two of the city’s most striking landmarks - Jiefangbei and Hongya Cave. Jiefangbei Square, home to the Monument to the People’s Liberation, stands as a symbol of victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Now it attracts visitors for sightseeing and photography, while at night, the illuminated monument becomes one of the best spots to admire Chongqing’s dazzling skyline. Surrounded by shopping centers, restaurants, and entertainment venues, Jiefangbei is a dynamic hub that captures Chongqing’s urban energy.

2

Later, visit Hongya Cave, an iconic stilted architectural wonder built into the mountainside. Known for its "three-dimensional aerial pedestrian street," this attraction offers breathtaking night views, featuring traditional Diaojiaolou buildings, Tujia ethnic architecture, and antique-style commercial streets like Zhiyanhe Bar Street and Tiancheng Lane, where visitors can immerse themselves in Bayu culture, shopping, and street food. A perfect blend of history, tradition, and modern vibrance, Hongya Cave is an unmissable highlight of Chongqing’s skyline.
After your tour, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, allowing you plenty of time to unwind and prepare for the adventures ahead.

3

After breakfast, begin your day by visiting the Dazu Rock Carvings, an extraordinary site and the real-life inspiration for the black myth: Wukong. As the largest grotto complex in southern China, the Dazu Rock Carvings date back to the late Tang dynasty (618–907) and early Song dynasty (960–1127). Renowned for its exquisite stone carvings, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a true masterpiece of Buddhist and Taoist art. Among the five cave groups, the Baodingshan Rock Carvings stand out, featuring the famous “Three-Dimensional Picture of the River During the Qingming Festival”, which vividly captures the market life of the Southern Song Dynasty. As you explore the site, you’ll encounter not only intricate carvings but also the atmosphere of ancient local life, blending history and art.

4

A green bus will take you directly to Baodingshan, where mountain cliffs are adorned with thousands of statues of Buddha, Taoist figures, and notable personalities from the late Tang Dynasty. The Dafowan Cliff, spanning 500 meters, is home to around 10,000 Buddha statues, each contributing to a narrative mural that offers a glimpse into ancient China’s rich cultural tapestry. You’ll have the freedom to wander at your own pace, fully immersing yourself in the precious grotto art.

5

After your visit, head to the Light of Copper Viewing Platform (Tong Yuan Zhi Guang), one of the most iconic spots in Nan'an District. Nestled against Nanshan, this viewpoint offers spectacular panoramic views of the city’s skyline, including Laojun Cave and Nanshan. Whether it’s the bustling cityscape by day, the peaceful sunset, or the captivating night view, this platform provides a perfect setting to take in the beauty of Chongqing.

6

Next, experience the thrill of Sujiaba Overpass, an architectural marvel known for its massive spiral ramp, towering piers, and sleek design. Often compared to a real-life roller coaster, this impressive overpass offers a one-of-a-kind driving experience that captures Chongqing’s reputation as a "city of bridges and mountains."

7

After breakfast, head to the Liziba Viewing Platform, the best spot to witness and photograph Chongqing’s famous light rail passing through a residential building—a sight that perfectly captures the city's unique urban landscape. Nearby, the cafés and residential buildings offer fantastic perspectives for photography enthusiasts.

8

Next, we head to Shancheng Lane, known as Chongqing’s "Architecture Museum". This historic lane, named after "Mountain City", offers a fascinating glimpse into Chongqing’s rich history and culture, from Ming Dynasty city walls to foreign consulates from the late Qing Dynasty. The area also showcases stilted houses, courtyards, air raid shelters, and Shanghai-style architecture from the Anti-Japanese War era, alongside residential buildings from the People’s Republic of China era. The unique street layout, built into the mountainside, combines traditional Ba Yu culture with a modern, retro vibe, making it a popular spot for photos and exploring local culture. Visitors can enjoy cultural shops, homestays, creative bookstores, and delicious mountain city cuisine while soaking in the nostalgic atmosphere of this historical gem.

9

After the tour, your guide and driver will transfer you to the airport or train station for your departure.
