You will sit and enjoy while our driver takes you to about 1000 meters up in the mountains where the view over Iceland’s highest peaks will take your breath away, all awhile we are driving on Vatnajökull, the biggest glacier in Europe.
Our experienced guide shares a wealth of fascinating information during the tour about the glaciers and the icefields and their impact on our environment.
Riding a super jeep over the rugged terrain of Iceland is an exciting experience and something few get the opportunity to do. You can expect to pass through all of the natural beauty that Iceland is known for, lava fields, expanses of black sand, and the ice of the glacier. You'll head around 1000 meters up into the mountains. The higher you ascend the Vatnajokull glacier, the more impressive the views that surround you. You will also notice dramatic ridges, plunging crevasses, and some of Iceland's highest peaks. You will also witness spectacular panoramas over Iceland's south, east, and highlands when the weather is good. Keep an eye out for herds of reindeer, as they are common in this region. As you enjoy the scenery, don't forget to consider what's below you. There are hundreds of meters of ice beneath your feet. After enjoying the stunning vistas of the glacier, you'll return to the super jeep for an exciting journey back down to base camp.
