Detailed itinerary

1

We will be starting our excursion at the pier, walking along the beach and the boardwalk, and perhaps we'll walk over to the canals - exploring and seeking out great photo opportunities. I'll be able to give you hands-on guidance - give suggestions on composition (if you want) or just lead you to the places where I've always been able to capture magic. It is the place that has inspired the coffee table photo book I am creating; not wax poetic but it has some of the best photo opportunities around nature and man coming together at their finest. And if you don't mind getting your feet wet, but not your camera, I will show you some of the better photo opportunities. This is a customizable and bespoke tour. If we are feeling the pier's magic, we can stay longer, if not, we will continue. It's completely up to the group.

Stop 2

Bodybuilding", nestled right in the heart of Venice Beach since 1963. Bodybuilders and bodybuilding enthusiasts flock to this outdoor gym to work out and be a part of the bodybuilding tradition. There are sure to be a few photo-worthy shots here - weather permitting!
But that's not all we are seeing! We will also be seeing the Iconic Venice Sign - created by Abbot
Kinney in 1905 spanning Venice Blvd and Pacific
We also have The Townhouse which was the home of Del Monte Speakeasy. The speakeasy ran
until Prohibition ended in 1933. After the repeal, the grocery store was scrapped, and the bar re-
opened in the upstairs area. The downstairs area became Club Del Monte. It'll likely be closed
but the facade is a worthy pic.

3
Stop 3

And then there's the Venice Skate Park! Even if you've never been on a skateboard and have no desire to be on one you will love watching the talented people do their thing and capture amazing pictures!
The Venice Boardwalk is the route we will be taking back to the pier where the tour began. The boardwalk is vibrant and busy (always keep an eye on your personal property!) You'll be able to capture the vibrant life happening around you. Maybe we'll encounter street musicians or other performers? There are usually all types of photo opportunities that present themselves on the boardwalk. Otherwise, it wouldn't be famous.

4
Stop 4

- After the Venice Pier we will be heading 2 blocks east on Washington Blvd to the Venice Canals. The Venice Canals community is a magical hidden neighborhood in the Venice Beach area of Los Angeles. It consists of three blocks set around six man-made canals: Grand and Eastern canals run north-south; Carroll, Linnie, Howland, and Sherman stretch east-west and is officially known as the Venice Canal Historic District.
Discovering this serene sanctuary, it's hard to believe you're just a few minutes walk east of Venice's crowded boardwalks and traffic, or mile-long Abbot Kinney Boulevard with its shops, restaurants and galleries.
It's an easy place to explore on foot and you can easily spend an entire morning or afternoon exploring, weaving your way around, along the quiet pathways and over the arching wooden pedestrian bridges. Having said that, we won't! We are just going to walk through the canals heading towards the iconic Venice sign.
