Once a desolate area inhabited by foxes, Ngong Ping has transformed into a place with one of Hong Kong's most significant Buddhist temple. Join our Buddhist guide to delve into the fascinating philosophy and temple design behind this remarkable transition.

If you wish, join me on a 15-minute walk to a scenic spot at the foot of Lantau Peak. Here, you’ll encounter towering wooden pillars engraved with passages from the Heart Sutra, offering a deeper insight into Buddhist philosophy. Along the way, you can also observe some of Hong Kong’s fascinating native plants.

Unlike typical tour groups, we will take a taxi directly to Tai O, saving time and ensuring a more comfortable journey. Upon arrival, we’ll explore how this former fishing village evolved into a must-visit destination. Stroll through the narrow alleys of the market to discover dried seafood and local delicacies beloved by Hong Kong people—such as fish maw, sea cucumber, seahorses, and starfish.

We will visit Tai O’s most unique architecture: the stilt houses over water. Dive deep into the traditional lifestyle and culture of the local fishing communities. We’ll also stop by a stilt-house-turned-café for coffee, and explore a temple dedicated to the spiritual beliefs of the fishermen.
