Upon arriving at Mont-Saint-Michel, after passing through the middle of the village, we will begin our ascent to reach the abbey in order to admire the magnificent view of the bay and to visit this structure built starting from the 10th century
After visiting the mount, it will take us about 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach Pointe du Hoc, where I will recount to you the history of the Normandy landings and the exploits of the 2nd American Ranger Battalion
We will then proceed to Omaha Beach, the site where the troops of the 1st and 29th American Infantry Divisions landed. There is a small restaurant in Saint Laurent sur Mer where you can have lunch
After lunch, it will only take us 10 minutes to reach the impressive American cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer. There, we will take the time to pay tribute to the heroes who came to liberate France and Western Europe in 1944
Our final stop will be the village of Arromanches-les-Bains, where we will make a stop for me to tell you the story of the artificial ports built by the Allies in the spring of 1944. We will be able to see the remains of the Phoenix caissons still present in the sea. Then, we will head back to your residence in Normandy
