Shurijo Castle is currently undergoing repairs from a fire in 2019 and is scheduled to be rebuilt in the fall of 2026.

The Shouden (main hall) of Shuri Castle is the symbol of Shuri Castle and the symbolic building of the Ryukyu Kingdom.
