Toyosu Market is one of the largest wholesale markets in Japan, which opened in 2018 after being relocated from Tsukiji Market.
A tour course overlooking the Fisheries Wholesale Building and the Fruits and Vegetables Building has been developed within the market. Visitors can observe the vitality of the market and the people working there, and experience the dynamic nature of the huge market.
On this tour, you will observe a tuna auction from a special deck.
The sight of huge tuna from all over Japan and overseas is a spectacular sight. Visitors are fascinated by the serious competition between the auctioneers and wholesale brokers, who shout back and forth to each other.
The auction is held in the early morning, so you need to get up early, but it is a worthwhile experience.

3

Tsukiji Market opened in 1935 and has supported Japan's food culture as ‘Tokyo's kitchen’, and even after its relocation to Toyosu Market in 2018, many shops continue to operate as the Tsukiji Outside Market, where you can enjoy specialities made from fresh ingredients such as sushi, seafood rice bowls and egg rolls. The lively atmosphere unique to the market still remains and is loved by tourists and locals alike. As a place that embodies the history of Japanese food culture, the Tsukiji Market is a special place that, together with the Toyosu Market, gives a sense of its evolution.

4

Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple is a temple of the Jodo Shinshu Honganji sect in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, originally built in Tsukiji in the Edo period (1603-1868), but rebuilt in 1934 after being damaged in the Great Kanto Earthquake.
The main hall is built of stone, with large arched windows and an eye-catching dome roof. The design is modelled on ancient Indian temple architecture, giving it an exotic feel that is unusual for a Japanese temple. Furthermore, the front of the main hall is decorated with colourful stained glass, creating a space where tradition and modernity merge. Inside, a majestic statue of Buddha is enshrined, creating a solemn atmosphere, while the spaciousness of the hall makes visitors feel at home.
The Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple is a special spot that combines exotic architecture and modern initiatives that are different from traditional temples, and combines historical value with new attractions.
