Stop 2

Begin your journey into the past with a guided tour of approximately 1.30 hours at Su Nuraxi, available in both Italian and English, to uncover the secrets of this extraordinary testament to the ancient Nuragic civilization.
Discovered and brought to light in the Fifties, during excavations conducted by the great archaeologist Giovanni Lilliu, the area consists of an impressive complex nuraghe, built in different phases as from the 15th century BC and an extended village of huts developed all around it during the following centuries. A wonderful place that now since 1997 has been enrolled in Unesco World Heritage Lists because of its uniqueness. The Nuragic civilization developed in Sardinia during a period of about 1000 years (1500-500 BC) giving rise to a very complex social structure, characterized by communities divided into different social classes to which families or clans belonged.

Meeting at Su Nuraxi Barumini. Transfer to Tenuta Olianas

4

At midday indulge in the authentic flavors of Sardinia with a stop at Cantina Olianas, where you can taste two of the finest local wines and savor a typical Sardinian aperitif.
On the Olianas estate BioIntegrale practices start with a vital choice: growing only autochthonous vines, those special Sardinian varieties that are part of the local tradition and reflect the region’s characteristics and local culture. This variety grows in sandy-clay soil, and accounts for approximately 66% of our red grapes. We then have vermentino, another local grape passionately grown by Sardinians for hundreds of years, which covers over 75% of our white grape vineyards. To the our land and nurture the vines we rely on sound, time-honored, traditional practices, such as organic manuring and green manure. We hand-harvest our grapes, make them into wine without using foreign yeasts, and age the grape nectar in amphorae, to bring out the heart and soul of the vine and soil.
