Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

Travelers will enjoy panoramic views and local stories as we explore the stunning Bay of Banderas, one of the largest and most beautiful bays in Mexico.

Your private tour begins with convenient pickup from your hotel, villa, or cruise port anywhere around the bay. Along the scenic drive, your guide will share the history and ecological importance of this vibrant coastline — from its diverse marine life to the charming seaside neighborhoods that dot the shore.

You’ll have opportunities to stop at carefully chosen viewpoints to admire sweeping ocean vistas, watch for dolphins or whales (in season), and capture amazing photos that showcase Puerto Vallarta’s natural beauty at its best.

2
Stop 2

At the iconic Malecon Boardwalk, travelers will have the chance to stroll along Puerto Vallarta’s vibrant oceanfront promenade, a must-see highlight of the city.

Guests can enjoy a guided walk along the most scenic stretch, where your guide will share stories behind the Malecon’s famous bronze sculptures, colorful murals, and landmarks that capture the spirit of Vallarta.

This is a wonderful spot to take photos of the Pacific coastline, watch local artists at work, or simply soak in the lively atmosphere filled with shops, street performers, and ocean views.

3

At the Plaza de Armas, travelers will visit one of Puerto Vallarta’s most historic and lively public squares, right in the heart of downtown.

This iconic plaza is surrounded by local landmarks, including the Municipal Palace and the beautiful Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe just steps away. It’s the perfect place to relax under the shade of giant trees, enjoy live music from the bandstand (when available), and watch local families and artisans go about their day.

Your guide will share the history of how the plaza has served as a central gathering place for generations, connecting travelers to the authentic spirit of the city. This is a great spot for photos, people-watching, or picking up local snacks from nearby vendors before continuing your private city adventure.

4
Stop 4

At the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, travelers will visit Puerto Vallarta’s most iconic church and a beloved symbol of the city’s heritage and faith.

Guests will admire the church’s stunning architecture, known for its unique blend of neoclassical, renaissance, and Mexican baroque styles, crowned by its famous crown-topped tower.

Your guide will share the story of the church’s construction, its importance to local traditions, and how it plays a central role during festivities like the Festival of Our Lady of Guadalupe each December.

Take time to step inside (when open) to view beautiful stained-glass windows, sacred artwork, and the peaceful atmosphere — a perfect spot to capture memorable photos and connect with the cultural heart of Puerto Vallarta.

5

At Jewelry and Marino Marino, travelers have the option to make a brief cultural stop at one of Puerto Vallarta’s best-known local gold and silver workshops.

This optional visit introduces guests to the region’s rich mining heritage and the importance of Mexico’s national gemstone, the Fire Opal. Local artisans share how they craft unique pieces using traditional techniques passed down through generations.

Guests are welcome to browse the showroom or simply enjoy a quick look — there’s absolutely no obligation to purchase.

This optional stop also offers a convenient opportunity to refresh, stretch your legs, and use the restroom before continuing on to the Botanical Garden or back to town, ensuring a more comfortable and relaxed journey.

6

At Conchas Chinas, travelers will enjoy a scenic drive through one of Puerto Vallarta’s most exclusive and picturesque coastal neighborhoods.

Known to Obi Tours as the “Beverly Hills of Vallarta,” Conchas Chinas offers stunning views of the emerald coastline, hidden coves, and luxurious hillside villas surrounded by tropical greenery.

Your private guide will take you to the famous Conchas Chinas Mirador, a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Bay of Banderas — perfect for breathtaking photos of the ocean and city below.

This stop is flexible: guests can choose to step out for photos and a fresh ocean breeze, or simply enjoy the views comfortably from the vehicle. It’s a relaxing highlight that shows you another side of Puerto Vallarta’s natural beauty.

7
Stop 7

At Los Arcos de Mismaloya, travelers have the option to pause at one of Puerto Vallarta’s most iconic viewpoints along the scenic coastal road.

From this lookout, guests can admire the famous granite rock formations rising from the turquoise waters of Banderas Bay — a National Marine Park known for its beauty and rich marine life. It’s a perfect spot for stunning photos and to learn about the natural and cultural significance of this protected area from your guide.

This optional stop also includes time to browse the small, colorful local flea market nearby, where local artisans offer handmade souvenirs, crafts, and regional snacks. Guests can take a few minutes to stretch, explore, or pick up a keepsake before heading back to town.

8

During your Signature City Tour, travelers will get to savor Puerto Vallarta’s vibrant local cuisine, tailored to your tastes and dietary preferences.

Your private guide will help you choose the best dining stop to fit your mood — whether you’re craving fresh seafood, authentic Mexican dishes, or a unique jungle-side meal. One of our favorite spots is "El Encanto del Rio" in El Nogalito, a charming riverside restaurant nestled in the lush Sierra Madre, known for its traditional flavors and beautiful setting.

Prefer to stay closer to town? We can also stop at one of several excellent eateries in the lively Zona Romántica, where you’ll find everything from classic tacos and grilled meats to vegan-friendly and gourmet options.

No matter where you choose, you’ll experience warm local hospitality, fresh ingredients, and unforgettable flavors that make Puerto Vallarta’s food scene so special.

9

At El Nogalito, travelers will have the option to stop for a tequila tasting at one of the region’s most iconic distillery ranches, nestled deep in the lush Sierra Madre Mountains.

This peaceful jungle hideaway, El Ojo de Vidrio Distillery, offers an authentic introduction to Jalisco’s proud tequila-making tradition. Guests will learn how blue agave is harvested and distilled while enjoying a guided tasting of different tequila varieties — from smooth blanco to rich añejo.

The distillery’s scenic location surrounded by tropical forest makes this a memorable cultural and sensory experience. This stop is completely optional and can be added to your itinerary to complement your day of exploring Puerto Vallarta’s nature and culture.

10

At the end of your Signature City Tour, travelers will enjoy a relaxing drive back through Puerto Vallarta, with a flexible stop to pick up unique local treasures.

Before heading back to your hotel, villa, or cruise port, you’ll have the option to visit the Puerto Vallarta Municipal Flea Market. This colorful local market is a wonderful place to browse handmade crafts, souvenirs, jewelry, and authentic regional goods — and you’ll even have the chance to taste delicious traditional Mexican candies, freshly made by Leal’s Candy Shop, a beloved local spot known for its sweet treats.

If you prefer, you can skip the market and simply unwind as we drive you directly back to your pick-up point, ensuring you finish your day comfortably and right on time — with plenty of memories and maybe a sweet souvenir too!
