Stop 3

Manta Bay Snorkeling is so named as it’s one of the main dive sites in Bali where you can spot manta rays. These graceful rays are visible on almost every dives, along with spotted stingrays and nurse sharks. You can dive here all year round, however, the best time to go is usually between August and October, when visibility can be an excellent 20 metres deep. Most trips depart from the dive resorts on Nusa Lembongan, or from the coasts of Sanur and Padang Bai on the Bali mainland. The waters around Manta Point can get fairly cold, due to the open currents from the Indian Ocean.

At Crystal Bay you will see schools of anthias and batfish which comes around periodically. A bat cave is located nearby, there is a beautiful white sandy beach at Banjar Penida, west of Sakti village on the north western coast facing Nusa Ceningan. Crystal Bay is one of the few places in the world where one can see the awesome mola mola. One can be reasonably sure of a sighting during the season if two or three days of diving are allowed and for sure, diving with the Sunfish is an experience that you will never forget, the mola mola can reach a length of 3 metres and a weight of over 2,000 kg. They are usually found in deep and cold oceanic waters but occasionally they come inshore, in Bali between July and September.

Gamat Bay Snorkeling Point is very beautiful and still natural, The place is not crowded by tourists is suitable for relaxing cooling down your mind. Gamat Bay has very clean sand, soft and colorful corals are so beautiful. This area is highly favored by local divers to see marine exotic sea. The current was fairly heavy, it is recommended only divers who have advanced some people do. There is a diverse group of corals and coral mounds, almost all area of seabed from sandy Gamat Bay. Charming natural scenery with the sea water is very clear, making the diver can not wait to infiltrate into it. You will not found dive sites like this again complete with rocks and steep slopes. There is another small cracks surrounded by a variety of marine fish, certainly adds to the charm of the place.

Kelingking Beach you can enjoy the sweeping views from a purpose-built platform, which is bordered by bamboo fences. If you dare the challenging trek down to the beach, make sure it’s during low tide. Some sections of the path can be steep, requiring a bit of rock climbing, especially on the way back up. Locals have put rocks and bamboos to aid visitors over the years. Once you’ve reached the sand, you’ll have it all to yourself most of the time. Depending on tide conditions, the waters are swimmable. However, note that the undercurrents can be strong, and being the remote site that it is, there are no lifeguards around. Besides your camera and a good pair of shoes, be sure to bring drinking water with you on the descent, to keep you hydrated. You can combine your visit to Kelingking Beach with a visit to an interesting temple nearby. Pura Paluang Temple is a couple of minutes’ ride east by motorbike, and features shrines in the shape of cars!

Broken Beach spot is marked by a hilly arch-like rock formation, which is the distinguishable landmark of the area. Set over the crashing waves of the open Indian Ocean, Broken Beach is a great spot for travel photographers and panoramic view seekers. The adjacent area is also home to grey long-tailed macaques. If you’re lucky, you may spot silhouettes of giant mantas near the surface of the deep blue water.The journey to Broken Beach is an overland adventure through Nusa Penida’s rugged limestone terrain. Most of the pathways are rocky and unpaved. The majority of people rent a motorbike to reach Broken Beach. It will take around two hours to reach this corner from the main harbour area in Nusa Penida’s north-western tip. Once you get to Broken Beach, you’ll be rewarded by a truly sweeping seascape. You can combine your trip to Broken Beach to see more unique coastal features, such as the beautiful Angel's Billabong.

Angel's Billabong located nearby Pasih Uug (Broken Beach), another popular site with unique limestone formations. The naturally formed rock lagoon offers a scenic seascape. You can descend into its crystal-clear rock pools for a swim or a soak, but only during low tide. The rock pools are one of the must-sees for visitors to Nusa Penida. The island itself is famous for its beautiful cliffs and pristine coastlines. Both Angel's Billabong and Broken Beach are very popular sites here. However, you’ll most likely have this amazing natural infinity pool all to yourself on your visit. It’s a good idea to explore Broken Beach first nearby.
