The Nassif House is also called The House with the Tree because it opens onto a square, where there is a neem tree which used to be somewhat of a rarity and this was the only one in Jeddah up until the 1920s.
This souq runs off Al Dahab St and is the most extensive in the Kingdom. The market stalls cut into the heart of the old city and buzz with the activity of traders and pilgrims. Search long enough and you'll find genuine Arabian jewellery, Islamic art and traditional dress. Be here at sunset when the call to prayer fills the lanes – this is Arabia at its best.
Matbouli House Museum is a privately owned property located on Al-Qossani Alley in Al-Balad District, Jeddah. This museum was a traditional Hijazi merchant’s home, which has since been converted into a museum. It is almost 400 years old and was designed in the urban architectural style when it was built.
