This is a very unique local walking tour in Kameido - downtown of Tokyo. We will enjoy the souvenir shopping and visit 2 different shrines to make wishes for good luck!
(If you wish to visit other sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Ueno or Yanaka area after this tour, it will be easy access by bus from Kameido.)
After meeting up at JR Kameido station, we will walk to Umeyashiki where we can enjoy matcha (or other flavor) soft swirl ice cream (*included) and the souvenir shopping. You can find some Kameido local gifts such as “kame (turtle)” motif goods. There’re some instagramable photo spots where you can enjoy photo shooting, and I will be your private photographer as well:)
From Umeyashiki, we will walk to the Kameido Katori Shrine where’s famous for wishing luck for the sports and victory related wishes. At this beautiful and holy shrine, we will experience the holly fountains, tossing coins in the wishing well to wish, petting a giant holly rock, pouring water over the good luck statues, and collect the shrine original “goshuin” stamp. You can also enjoy the spiritual atmosphere surrounded by large trees and seasonal flowers.
After visiting Kameido Katori Shrine, we will walk to the Kameido Tenjin Shrine. Kameido Tenjin is famous for wishing study related wishes and the success for exams. We will make a wish by tossing a coin in the wishing well, petting a holly bull, collecting their goshunin stamp, meeting the “kame (turtles)” sunbathing on the rocks in the pond, and enjoy the Tokyo Skytree view from their iconic red bridge.
If you will be heading to other sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Ueno or Yanaka area I can take you to the convenient bus stop to complete the tour. If you will be heading back to JR Kameido station, I will walk you back there.
