The Abu Simbel Temple is actually a complex of two temples, the Great Temple of Ramesses II and the Small Temple of Nefertari. The Great Temple of Ramesses II is the larger of the two and is dedicated to the gods Amun, Ra-Horakhty, and Ptah, as well as to Ramesses himself. The temple features four massive statues of Ramesses II, each standing at 20 meters tall, at the entrance. The interior of the temple features a series of halls and chambers adorned with intricate reliefs depicting scenes from the life of Ramesses II, as well as scenes from various battles and the annual festival of Opet. The Small Temple of Nefertari is dedicated to the goddess Hathor and features six statues at the entrance, four of which depict Nefertari and two of which depict Ramesses II. The interior of the temple features reliefs depicting Nefertari and various other gods and goddesses.
