It is found in the northern part of a quarry there, located near Aswan on the eastern shore of the Nile, about 1 km east of the Nile River. The height of the obelisk would have reached about 41.7 meters, and its side section at its base would be 2.4 meters by 2.4 meters. When completed, it would weigh about 1168 tons. you’ll also find ancient rock paintings left behind by stone workers.
