Detailed itinerary

1

The National Theatre, which opened in 1966, has been a key venue for preserving and promoting traditional Japanese performing arts such as Kabuki, Bunraku, dance, traditional music, and Gagaku. Over the years, it has played a central role in making these art forms more accessible while fostering the next generation of artists to carry these traditions forward.

Although it is temporarily closed for rebuilding, this tour offers a unique backstage experience where you can explore stage facilities and dressing rooms that are usually off-limits to the public. You will have the chance to try on costumes worn by Kabuki actors, play instruments used in Kabuki performances, and enjoy a photo session with a Kabuki-themed backdrop!
