Agia Thekla Monastery is nestled within the heart of Mosfiloti, a picturesque village in Larnaca’s district. The monastery is surrounded by a green-covered valley offering a serene setting. Similar to Stavrovouni Monastery, Agia Thekla is said to have been founded by Saint Helen during the 4th century. According to the story, Saint Helen prayed to God at exactly where the monastery is situated today. She prayed to God to help her and her escorts because they were really thirsty sue to their travels. After the praying, Holy water overflowed the earth. She then started building the monastery. Till this day, holy water flows through the same spring. The holy water is believed to cure skin diseases.
