Detailed itinerary

1

“Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking” is one of the largest wine and spirits producing companies in Georgia and the Caucasus region. Established in 2001, it produces wine, brandy, and sparkling wines using traditional Georgian techniques mixed with the state of art technologies. This allows the company to preserve an old, unique taste of wine and create its signature style to spread to the world. It all starts with planting and harvesting the finest quality Georgian grapes all over the country. Then the state-of-the-art machinery is used for all the processes that grape and spirits demand, starting from grape preparation to fermentation and storage. Finally, after merging modern technologies and ancient traditions of wine-making, KTW preserves an old, unique taste of wine, creates its unrepeatable style, and offers the finest Georgian wines to the world.

2

The Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe is a Georgian Orthodox monastic complex and the seat of the Bishops of Bodbe located 2 km from the town of Sighnaghi, Kakheti, Georgia. Originally built in the 9th century, it has been significantly remodeled, especially in the 17th century.

3

Signagi is located in the Kakheti region of Georgia, first settled in the Paleolithic period. Throughout its history, Signagi or Sighnaghi was known to the local population as Kambechovani, and later as Kisikhi or Kisiki. The word Sighnaghi in the Turkic language means shelter or trench. Signagi as a settlement was first recorded in the early 18th century. In 1762, King Heraclius II of Georgia sponsored the construction of the town and erected a fortress to defend the area from marauding attacks by Dagestani tribesmen.
