There is also an option to see the water from above by climbing the stairwell on the side of the waterfall. The drive from Seljalandsfoss is 20min.

Travelers will see magnificent basalt columns. At low tide, they can head to the cave that faces the ocean. The beach is powerful and dangerous so it's best to keep a safe distance. The black sand is naturally made of powdered lava.
