Nova. We climb towards Albano crossing parts of
Roman countryside arriving in Albalonga with
His Diocesan Museum and the Cisternone. We arrive at the Sepulchre of the Horaces and Curiati in Ariccia.
Along the Aricia valley we go up to the ancient old town where you can
admire Palazzo Chigi and the Inn
Hammers. Here in Ariccia we stop for a tasting of the famous Porchetta and a glass of wine. We continue towards Castel Gandolfo, a picturesque village with its
Papal Palace and its large Gardens. We proceed towards Albano Station and comfortably return to Rome by train. Tour of about 40 Km.

Stop 1 Pass by

Along the way you can admire from outside the ancient baths of Caracalla, the largest and most important baths of ancient Rome

Stop 2 Pass by

Along the way you can admire Porta San Sebastiano, one of the 18 gates of the Aurelian walls that surrounded and protected Rome from possible invasions.

We arrive at the mausoleum of Cecilia Metella, an ancient Roman tomb located along the ancient Appian Way. It was built in the 1st century BC for Cecilia Metella, daughter of Quintus Cecilius Metellus Creticus, an important Roman general.

Stop 4

Villa dei Quintili and Santa Maria Nova are two archaeological sites located along the Via Appia Antica in Rome. Villa dei Quintili was one of the largest and most luxurious suburban residences in ancient Rome that belonged to the Quintili brothers. Santa Maria Nova is an archaeological complex adjacent to the Villa dei Quintili.

Slowly climb towards Albano, crossing parts of the Roman countryside

The Cisternone of Albano Laziale is one of the largest and best preserved existing Roman cisterns. It dates back to the 2nd century AD. and still fully functional today.

The tomb of the Horaces and Curiazi is an ancient funerary monument located along the Via Appia Antica near Albano Laziale. According to tradition, it is linked to the famous duel between the Horatians and the Curiatians that took place in the seventh century BC.

Ariccia is one of the most fascinating cities of the Castelli Romani, located a few kilometers from Rome. Rich in history, culture and culinary traditions, it is famous for its connection to the ancient Appian Way, the Baroque and the famous porchetta of Ariccia

The inn Martorelli is a historic building located in the heart of Ariccia, overlooking the famous Piazza di Corte, next to Palazzo Chigi. It is a symbolic place for the history of the Grand Tour and for the 19th Century art movement.

Here in Ariccia we stop to taste the famous Porchetta with a nice glass of local wine.

Picturesque village that welcomes the papal palace and its wonderful gardens

After the tour we head to the Albano train station to return comfortably to Rome
