Detailed itinerary

1

Lake Como, in Northern Italy’s Lombardy region, is an upscale resort area known for its dramatic scenery, set against the foothills of the Alps. The lake is shaped like an upside-down Y, with three slender branches that meet at the resort town of Bellagio. At the bottom of the southwest branch lies the city of Como, home to Renaissance architecture and a funicular that travels up to the mountain town of Brunate

2

Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001, the villa grounds include a masterpiece of Italian garden design with an amazing concentration of fountains, nymphaea, grottoes, water themes and a organ which produces audible effects created by water.

3

Villa Fontanelle is a villa (sometimes called a palazzo) near Moltrasio on Lake Como in Lombardy, Italy, about 50 kilometres (31 mi) from Milan. The four-storey yellow-painted building was built in the first half of the nineteenth century by the eccentric Lord Charles Currie, a visiting Englishman who fell in love with Lake Como. Failing to find a villa for sale, he decided to create his own, right on the water's edge. It was subsequently owned by Antonio Besana, a friend of the composer Giuseppe Verdi.

4

Villa Passalacqua is an opulent, 18th-century villa on Lake Como that has been transformed into a luxurious hotel. It's known for its neoclassical architecture, beautiful gardens, and lavish interiors, offering a unique blend of history and contemporary luxury. The villa is situated in Moltrasio, offering stunning views of the lake and surrounding landscapes.

5

Torno is a charming, picturesque village located on the eastern shore of Lake Como in Lombardy, Italy. It's known for its historic lakefront, narrow lanes, and peaceful atmosphere, offering beautiful views and access to scenic walking routes. The town retains medieval architectural characteristics and is easily accessible by ferry from Como and other lake destinations.

6

Known chiefly as the home of Luchino Visconti, Villa Erba was designed at the end of the nineteenth century, with a Mannerist inspiration, which gives a dramatic impression of opulence. Each room of the two-storey building is luxuriously decorated with the works of Angelo Lorenzoli.
