The Green Grotto, classified by speleologists as secondary (i.e. produced, due to destructive phenomena, after the formation of the mother rock), is composed of the oldest sedimentary rock on Capri, dolomite.

You can see, among the white limestone rocks, the strong contrast between the light of the cave and the blue of the sea, making this place surreal also thanks to the thick and suggestive stalactites and stalagmites.
