About this experience

Join us for a relaxed two-hour sunset bike tour around the outskirts of Lucerne. We’ll meet in Kriens, where bikes are provided, and enjoy an easy ride through the area. As a former professional cyclist, my passion for cycling is one of the things I love sharing with others. This tour is a casual and fun way to explore the city, with plenty of stops for photos and taking in the views. Detailed itinerary

1

We start the tour by picking up the bikes at our garage in Kriens. From there, we head into the village of Kriens, where you can enjoy the calm atmosphere and see a blend of local life and nature as we set off towards our first stop.

2

We cycle through a small, quiet street that leads us to Horw, offering a peaceful ride through the local landscape. This stretch provides a great opportunity to enjoy the countryside as we make our way towards Kastanienbaum.

3

Kastanienbaum is a beautiful lakeside area situated on a peninsula that extends into the waters of Lake Lucerne. As we ride around this scenic spot, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

4
Stop 4

After leaving Kastanienbaum, we continue cycling along the lakeside, passing through Lucerne. As we ride by, you'll be treated to some of the most stunning views of Lake Lucerne, with its crystal-clear waters and the backdrop of the surrounding mountains. The city itself is a blend of modernity and tradition, offering a glimpse of historic architecture alongside more contemporary Swiss life. Cycling through Lucerne provides the perfect mix of natural beauty and urban charm as we continue towards our next destination.

5

Our tour continues towards Meggen, a peaceful village located just outside Lucerne. Depending on the group's strength and interest, we have the option to take a small detour to Meggenhorn, a stunning spot offering panoramic views of Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains. While it does involve a short climb, the views at the top are well worth the effort. If we prefer to skip the climb, we will continue along the lakeside towards the heart of Meggen village.

6
Stop 6

Return to Kriens
On our way back, we’ll take a slightly different route, heading back towards Kriens to complete the tour. This is a relaxed, easy-going ride, and there’s no need to hesitate if you'd like to stop for a drink at a bar or take in more of the beautiful surroundings. The focus is on enjoying the journey at a comfortable pace, making this the perfect way to end the day.
