Known as the mimosa Valley, these Madeira levada is an easy path that allows you to enjoy some of the most beautiful views over the valley of Machico and the southern east coast. Walking along the Madeira levada one can see farmers at work, typical houses the beautiful yellow scenery with the perfume of the mimosas in the air and fantastic views along the route.
Along the way you can observe the residents in their usual tasks, treating their lands or animals. Built to irrigate the surrounding farmland, the levada collects water from various streams and tributaries that intersect with it.
