We have chosen Vermeer's classic painting of The Girl with the Pearl Earring because it is familiar to many and because it has great examples of all of the principles we teach in this intro class including
-a variety of colours
- Chiaroscuro (the Italian term for extreme light and dark contrast)
-a full range of flesh tones ... we teach an easy method for mixing skin tones!
-a variety of edges including hard, soft and lost edges and we will teach you to recognise and execute these all easily
This short workshop is fun for everyone and great for beginners.
We will greet you at the studio at Borgo ss Apostoli, 18 (note: there are two of every number in Florence and we are the black number 18 -not the red)- located about halfway down the street at the edge of a tiny square called Piazza del Limbo. There would be Studio name on the buzzer.
