Mulagandha Kuti Vihar monastery was built in 1931 by Sri Lankan Buddhist Monk Angarika Dharmapala. The Temple houses a golden statue of the Buddha.The wall of temple is well decorated with fresco painting which depict scenes from Buddha’s life. The Fresco Painting on the wall was made by Japanese artist Kosetsu Nousu in 1936. The Statue of Buddha is in posture of first teaching of the Dharma to the five ascetics.

Dhamekh Stupa, situated on the south-eastern part of the ruins area of Samath, Dhamek Stupa is a solid cylindrical structure. The dome of this stupa is 93' in diameter. The height of this Stupa as 110' above the surrounding ruins.The Dhamek Stupa is said to mark the spot where the Buddha gave the first sermon to his first five disciples.
