On the way to Transfagarasan, you will also visit Curtea de Arges monastery, a beautiful church with a dark story and you will see Poenari fortress, the ruins of Vlad the Impaler’s castle and Vidraru dam. For the moment, the fortress is closed for restoration, so you can just admire it from the road.
The scenic drive begins after Vidraru damn, so get ready for some adrenaline! For lunch, we will stop at the top of Transfagarasan, in Balea Lac chalet, next to Balea glacier lake. So prepare your camera for this enchanting tour!
